Have you had any thought in continuing on the path of tattooing these day?
Yeah, wanting to become a professional artist has been my goal and identity for like my whole life, and over the past few months I've felt like it's not fulfilling enough to be my identity anymore. It's sorta weird. I had such a clear direction for so long and now I'm kinda floating. The greatest change comes from these sorts of places though.
It is cool you're making a living off of art, and I'm proud of you for sticking with it, but also don't force yourself to be somewhere you don't want to be. There's always more opportunities out there to find, taking the leap is scary for sure though.
We should have a convo about our relationship with art next time we hangout.
It’s good to know I’m not alone, I feel like I’m doing everything I can to cling to the same direction that you’re feeling
@ExtinctionArts not really. drawing on someone permanently makes me nervous

You could try keeping a lil sketchbook on your bedside table. When you wake up you just sit up and draw something. Sometimes it’ll be what you dream of. Sometimes it’ll be random or whatever. I think this helped me release my creativity at its strongest (when you wake up and before you’re burdened by chores and life’s everyday baggage). This small task gave me energy and I would look forward to going to bed so that I could wake up and wonder what i would draw tmrw. Good luck!

Thanks! I do keep a dream journal in my phone so i have something similar. The toughest thing is that I work in coffee on the side and I wake up at 6 am for work and then go to my Econ job after which is art related.
These days it’s hard because after a full day of art and being surrounded by it, it makes it a little hard to have the energy to make even more.
But yes, i do keep little notebooks in my pocket and my backpack, and when I’m in between jobs or find time waiting somewhere, I’ll just doodle some stuff in my notepad instead of scrolling on my phone.
I’m sure a lot of it also has to do with keeping my attention on things, my phone has destroyed my focus haha. Working on it.
Thank you for the tips, it helps a lot.
